Blaze - Hampton Vessel History:

Hampton Yacht Group traces its roots to 1965, when C.Y. Chen began building sailing yachts in Taiwan under the well-known Formosa brand. The company earned a reputation for sturdy, ocean-capable cruising sailboats during the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.

As demand for sailboats declined, the Chen family shifted its focus toward motor yachts. In 1992, under the leadership of Jeff Chen, the Hampton Yacht Building Company was formally established, and production expanded into Shanghai, China. Hampton became one of the early Taiwanese yacht builders to operate major yacht-production facilities in China.

During the 1990s and 2000s, Hampton developed a range of semi-custom motor yachts and long-range cruising yachts. The company became particularly known for its Hampton pilothouse motor yachts and Endurance long-range cruisers, emphasizing seaworthiness, craftsmanship, and owner customization. A collaboration with naval architect Howard Apollonio helped refine Hampton's distinctive hybrid hull designs.

Today, Hampton has launched more than 2,000 yachts and operates production facilities in both China and Taiwan. The company remains family-led and is recognized for building luxury cruising yachts generally ranging from about 50 to over 80 feet in length.

Hampton's reputation has largely been built on producing robust, owner-customizable cruising yachts designed for extended offshore and coastal passage making rather than high-speed sport-yacht performance.

The 2008 Motor Yacht Blaze has been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life, benefiting from only two dedicated owners who have taken great pride in her upkeep. Their meticulous attention to maintenance, regular service, and continual improvements have helped preserve the yacht in outstanding condition.
